Upon starting Everest Ultimate Edition, the first thing to look at is the computer "Overview." Click on the "Computer" icon to open the "Overview." Clicking on "Overview" will display detailed information about our computer on the left side of the Everest Ultimate Edition interface. As shown in the image below, this information is much clearer than what we can view on the computer itself.
Use Everest Ultimate Edition to check the motherboard temperature, processor (CPU) temperature, and hard drive temperature
Still within the "Computer" section, clicking on "Sensors" will provide a detailed display of the motherboard, CPU, hard drive temperatures, and CPU voltage. Very convenient! In fact, when using this version of Everest Ultimate Edition, these temperatures are also displayed in the computer's taskbar!
Use Everest Ultimate Edition to analyze your CPU situation. It is generally recommended to view the CPUID for a clearer and more detailed view. Judging your CPU's strength can be done by examining the instruction set. The more supported instructions, the better your CPU. I won't elaborate on these hardware information viewing menus; you can click on the options in the menu to explore. If you're unsure, please seek help on the forum.
Let's talk about using Everest Ultimate Edition to test our computer's performance. Click on the "Performance Test" at the bottom of the menu, which includes tests related to memory, CPU, and FPU.
As an example, I will test the memory's read performance. Click on "Memory Read," then right-click and refresh in the list box on the right to check your memory's read performance. You can compare your memory's read speed with the settings provided to see where you stand.
This is my second time using Everest Ultimate Edition, so there may be areas where my explanation is not optimal. I hope this provides some help. Some areas have not been covered in detail. Please refer to the examples above and apply a similar approach.
1. How do I check the motherboard temperature, processor (CPU) temperature, and hard drive temperature?
In the "Computer" section, click on "Sensors" to see detailed displays of the motherboard, CPU, hard drive temperatures, and CPU voltage.
2. What is GMCH?
GMCH stands for Graphics/Memory Controller Hub, commonly known as the "Northbridge." It is responsible for connecting the CPU, memory, graphics card, etc., and connecting with the Southbridge. Its temperature is essentially the motherboard temperature.
